Xanga Community Tour
Today I booked myself on the Xanga Community Tour. It was an exclusive booking of my own naming and imagination. Truth is, I wanted to explore other blogs among shared blogrings and tags. There are so many blogs, so little time. Today was different for me. I had time on my side.
As I moved among the community of xanga, I made some connections with new people and did a lot of listening with my eyes. I was entertained, touched deeply, and felt compassion toward other's struggle with the world as it presents it's self to the individuals who express in this place.
I must admit that at a few sites, I tip toed right back out when I noticed my "nope, this is not it for me" buzzer going off in my head, but such as it is in any community. Finding our zone of expression and who and what we want to share. We stumble, we sing out songs of verse, we create, we rant, we ask questions, we preach, we advise, we call out in need, we lust, we seek, we hunger, we challenge, and more and more and more.
Out on my adventure today, I checked back on old footprints and if I didn't see a recent post, I wondered what happened to a complete stranger who I've commented back and forth with a few times. Did they get the guy? Did they find a cure? Are they still looking for a different state of mind in the world as it is? Maybe in future studies they'll find that the break through for mental health reached critical mass when blogs became part of the balance. Maybe not. No matter. It is what it is.
Blog a little. Live a little. Rant, then get on out there and stand up for yourself. Yeah...Tell your boss to go to hell. You figured it out while blogging and there were people who told you that you weren't crazy. Ask a question, get many answers then make up your own mind.
What a day I've had. Thanks to all of you who let me know a part of them today and to others who continue to fill my soul with news of their life among the living.
What impressions do you get when you move among the community of xanga?

I love it. I have met some very interesting people. Also, there are many Christians on Xanga and it is a wonderful feeling knowing if I have a problem ...they will pray for me.
@LifeNeedsProtection - It's the gift that keeps on giving, this place.
impressions: the variety, and how sometimes the connectedness
I definitely use Xanga to connect with other people, some are my close family, others I wouldn't have met except for Xanga. It is great to listen to others perspectives, and if they want mine, they can read my blog. Thanks for the comment!
Thank you for your words of encouragement. I'll be sure to keep that in mind.
I personally can't help but admire the community when I stroll through some entries. It's like reading ongoing stories of struggle, enlightenment, and other such things of interest.
God bless you by the way. Everything I ever hear from you is positive.
@KuyaD - Aww shucks! Thank you! That touches my heart.
E Props to you (What ever a e prop is) OK So I show my unfamiliarity with the blog net. Anyway Kudos. Well said and written, as were many of your web-logs. Keep it up and keep your variable perceptions of the Universe as it presents itself. The universe is how you percieve it. Mind over matter and mind over doesn't matter. Your experience can only be limited by your perseceptions.
@cyberscriber2world - Limiting those thoughts, those experiences would make my world too small for me. Thank you for the "fuzzies" opps e props. ha
Blogging is my life because it's my social link to other people all around the world. It has proven to me that we all look up at the same sky and everyone has problems. Not everyone may have the same problems, but everyone has problems.
And even some have the same ones you are having, it's comforting to know because then you really know you are not alone in this world when it comes to that.
Throw out the old phrase of "It's me against the world" out of the window because quite frankly
We ARE the world =]
@smokehazedplanet - ...we are the children. We are the ones who make a better life so let's start livin'. YES!
What a fascinating perspective--thanks for sharing of your tour! It's been too long since I've done any journeying--I must take heed and do some soon!
@JustMeAndy - Sometimes the journey has a stand still for it's own good reason. The engines always runnin' if you choose to get on the train. Step right up and get your ticket. The price is in the living as you well know.
The impression I have of Xanga is that there are so many wonderful people I would never have met without it. I too know the experience of "whoops, this isn't my thing," and I know the experience of "my gosh, where've you been all my life?!" I know teenagers and people older than me. I know people in other countries. I know writers and humorists and girls who just want to talk and be talked to.
I need my Xanga. :)
@fullmetalbunny - And it looks good on you too.
LOL, some of my tours were boring...my best method is to see who comment on topic I enjoy from my subscribers....in that way I find more people whom I would enjoy reading. I tried just browsing arround but then I get to too many sites that just does not resonate with me. So I follow the tip toeing out routine.
Some of my xanga friends are closer then the friends in my "real" world....this was an awesome post...and a great idea!!
I am touring first posts tonight. Hi, Lyne - Happy New Year!
