What Are You Doing Right Now?
I'm sitting at the pub waiting for Songwriters At Play to begin. It's the Slo Down Pub location if you click the link. The musicians who show up tonight and every Thursday night are touring and playing their original music in California and beyond. Living the dream. I'm quite content to absorb this excellent experience of honoring thoughts, that lead to music that helps us understand that we share so many emotions, and wonders within.
Music offers a connection, and oh yes, there are times when the connection can be harsh, or abrupt and even painful. But when we find the sound that sooth us, we can transport ourselves to safety or release or somewhere else completely. I close my eyes to a song that touches my heart. It sends me!
The music just started so I'm going to unplug and unwind.
(pats heart, and points to you music lovers, and yes, everyone else)

@murisopsis - I think that universal song is right there all the time. All we need is to quiet ourselves and listen from the inside out.
@saintvi - I'm booking the music for the pub and when we got Songwriters At Play hosted by Steve Key we created a space in our little part of the community that welcomes original music. The venue is small enough that you can talk and get to know these artist who share their stories of touring and reaching out to strangers as they come to new places, new towns. Yes indeed, it's a grand way to spend the evening. HUGS to YOU!
@peacenow - It is the BEST medicine available for me. Peace to you too as we walk through our days.
@songoftheheart - I have a weekly gig at a boutique wine bar in Pismo Beach. We are a duo called Side Effects. We both sing/harmonize and my partner in "Side Effecting", plays guitar. I do a bit of egg and tamborine when needed. We take Bob Dylan, John Hiatt, Karen Chapmen Carpenter and many others music and add a bit of our own twist to them. It's challenging musically and I love it. I have an ear for harmony, so it's great to pull up a new song and find the harmony that works. We've even done a few songs with both of us singing harmony that turned out great!
@Want2FitIn2Fat2Fit - Hang in there and keep your head in the game. Music is known to sooth the homework stress. :)
@SandraErickson - Ah the tones that heal, sooth, excited or have us tapping our toes is a fine way to live, eh?
@Jaynebug - That is so cool! Good for you!
@Jaynebug - Thanks !
