When Does The Laughter Show Up?
Yep! It has been one of those long running, "places to go, people to work for" weeks. With deadlines and last minute changes to newsletter, sick musicians to replace at the pub, and roofers making messes in the garden that I had left looking fabulous the day before.
My son was in a play last night, and I was running late. Three of us were in the bathroom at the same time. I just got out of the shower (blind without my glasses), The King was brushing his teeth, and Miss T formerly Miss A was curling her hair. We needed to leave in about 15 minutes so I was moving fast. I reached over to get my "even your limp hair can have body" spray, grabbed the bottle then moved quickly out of the room to put in my hair. I started spraying and working it into my roots, when I realized that the bottle felt wrong. Wasn't the right size. Wait...I now FOCUSED my eyes on the bottle. It was my eye glass cleaner that I bought at the fair. Anti streak, cleans every little thing off and defogs too.
I pushed past the crowd in the room, and went for water, but the sink was being used by The King as he rinsed his mouth, so I moved to the bathtub as I was trying to explain to them what I'd done. They were quiet for a minute, then as The King picked up the glass polish and started reading what it did for glasses, I was now putting my head under the faucet in the tub to wash the stuff out.
Me: "I hope my hair doesn't fall out."
Miss T: "Well at least we'll know it's not cancer."
Silence Silence Silence
I still had my head under the water and now I hear soft laughter, then they lost it. I started laughing and "the moment" happened. You know, that moment when you know this will be a new family "remember when Mom put the glass polish on her hair" story.
We got our act together and made it to the play (which was fantastic).
This morning, The King reached over in bed and put his hand on my head. "Feels like glass."
Me: "Won't fog up either."
I think the neighbors heard the laughter down the street.
Have a beautiful day, and keep your sense of humor.

hahahaha ... This is hillarious!
Once it did happened to me once when I was a student, we had only 1 bathroom to share and because we were late and the loo is full. I go and brush my teeth at the sink in the kitchen. I was still so tired from sleep and I reach out for the toothpaste. But it was not toothpaste - it was the tomato tube and it tasted awfully sour!!! hahahaha ... I cannot forget that moment when my whole teeth looks orange red and my roommates thought someone hits me because I was screaming around in the kitchen and then all of them screaming around because they thought they saw blood. LOL

Ah, the ol' wrong toothpaste tube. I bet that was real sour and with the screaming and red mouth it also must have been a sight! Hugsto YOU!
That is so funny! Glad you all found it something to laugh about. Laughter is good.
@ata_grandma - As I was rinsing my head under the bathtub faucet, I was loosing it a bit, but when I heard the laughes behind me, I found the higher road. I did think that if I woke up with less hair, I might not be laughing as hard, but hey, no harm, no foul. Laughter is truly the best medicine!
You will never live that down! Made me laugh what the king said, it is good to wake up to humor.
At least there won't be any fog in your hair.
this is a really fantastic story.
@seedsower - A most welcome sound. I'm liking 2013.
@angys_coco - My hair is soft in places and rough in spots. Might have striped some moisture? Not sure, but we're still laughing. I do love hats
@papertruth - Glad to share. Made me laugh, thought that Xangaland could the laugh too.

I've used toothpaste for hair creme, and didn't notice until later when everything started smelling pepperminty. ha! Your hair was streak free! and sqeaky clean!
@plantinthewindow - My kids reveal everything about me. Me?...I'll let them escape one by one. :)
@Iamsurrounded - I'm thinkin so.
Ah, moms! Always the life of the party!
Great story!
Why the name change for Miss A ?
Oh boy! Yep - that will be one for the history books. Miss T will probably tell her friends and they will smile way too big every time they meet you...
LOL! Laughter is the best medicine.
hahahahahahahaha....makes me wonder if your glasses have gone curly though
Great story. Reminds me of when my dad tried to brush his teeth with shaving cream... and the time my friend Dave tried to brush his with battery acid.
@songoftheheart - Without even trying most of the time.
@Bricker59 - Going by her middle name now. I figure it beats dying her hair or sneaking off and getting a piercing. Maybe just delaying some of it. hahahaha.
@murisopsis - Hope they laugh hard and long. Sixth grade needs lots of laughs.
@icepearlz - I'm so thankful for laughter in my life these days.

@Roadkill_Spatula - Battery acid? OUCH! That's a blog. Let me know when you write it.
