When The Gift Returns
When was the last time you had a great conversation? You know, the type that had you feeling more decisive, or maybe the one that put you over the edge to "do something about it!" Or how about the one that you learn something more about yourself because you listened, then thought about it, then responded, then laughed. Or when you're hurting inside, and someone takes the time to ask and friendships begin and new relationships with ourselves emerge, and... my list could go on and on, but I know you "get it." You are amazing!
These conversations as relates to myself have pulled me forward.
My conversations about problems are what they are; a venting, or processing. My conversations that just come up between friends and everyday new people in my "out in the fray" working world, well they are my stepping stones to learning what makes me tick.
"Wait." (tick tick tick) Not what makes us tick. It's more observing how we respond to life when engaging in repartee that goes beyond, "How's the weather."
I do love the ones that have me walking away smiling to myself. Warm fuzzy conversations are fine too. Conversations with 75 to 80 year old people have been gems of enlightenment. Reminds me most of the time that I should listen more and make eye contact with more people before time sweeps by. The eyes are true. I can spot the "BS" almost immediately, so it makes it easier to make my exit from the contact with no harm to any of us! All of them give me perspective. I like having my finger on the pulse of different life situations. Makes me grow like the gardens I tend.
Ah, but the gift you ask? What's the Gift Returning!
Last week I ran into three people who I hadn't seen in quite a while. All three brought up our last conversation as it related to them. They were smiling. (@saintvi posted a bit a go about smiling in situations and looking around your "waiting situation". She's a smart lady. )
Anyway...the three had been relating to other people within a conversation and they 'thought of me'. I myself have said that very thing to others.
Thank you for the Gift. Seems we've been passing around gifts for a while, supporting through thought. Thoughts create, you know. If you thought of one person at this moment, who'd made a difference in your life (big or small) you are sending them a gift right now. A loving thought just hit them. Poof! Now that's the good stuff. Our thoughts are prayers/energy/incert your form of connection here.
I'm getting the thought that I better get my tail out of here and go work in the succulent/cactus garden. There's gifts there too, but you know that.

I read @saintvi this morning and all my thoughts were about taxes
until now
thanks bunches mornin glorie!
@mlbncsga - I laughed when I saw her post after posting and tagging her. I guess if we can smile about taxes we've got it made, eh? hahaha cough cough!
We always focus on the negative of 'what goes around comes around" but the positive makes its rounds as well. I'm awash in happy thoughts reading xanga. I'm going to try to send them out into my work-world and make some waves!
Reading this took me right back to that night at Sly's. So much laughter - one of my favorite memories from that trip.
(pats heart and HUGS you)
@murisopsis - We've got your back Val! Go get em.
@saintvi - The laughter was abundant that night. I loved it too. Hugs back!
those look prickly pear.. to which I say PRICKLEY PEAR let me help you to tequila.
@starmanjones - It's another tequila sunrise?
@Jaynebug - providing we're discussing the playing of The Eagles tunes now :D otherwise it's foggy friday.
@starmanjones - Eagles! Love their music, I sing their music. The succulent is not prickly pear, although there is a huge one in this same garden. Have a good day Starman. Got to go clean my Hotel California. :)
I have several Internet friends that are helping me feel better as I go through all my doctors appointments
@SisterMae - Fine friends indeed.
@Jaynebug - stabb that gunk with the steely knives but you'll never kill that beast.
i have one in my front yard and also yellow ones
Wonderful post, thoughts and insights. Gifts to come back around. That's a plus but sharing with others and listening to others are in the moment their own gifts intrinsically. I'm the same in seeing what's in a person's eyes. I've found in real life most don't BS. Most aren't looking to create trouble. Maybe that's been a matter of luck but I've engaged with a lot of people and have been around a lot more.
Beautiful thoughts from a beautiful soul.
@grannykaren - Yellow. Nice. So many flowers, so little time.
@TheSutraDude -I think we can sit on the edge of trouble without knowing we're there, but I get what you're saying about the abundance of good intentions. I consider us all part of the family of people, so where ever I find myself, then that's where I engage. Works out nicely.
@songoftheheart - A loving comment from a song filled heart. HUGS!
@Jaynebug - That's true but I have developed a good sense about people. To illustrate, it's magnified in a bar. Some people can drink and remain totally decent while others quickly become obnoxious and others become unruly and in some cases dangerous. Bars often serve as a magnification of how far a person is developed.
@TheSutraDude - I work at a winery, pouring wine. Birds eye veiw of the human condition is all mine for the taking.
@Jaynebug - Haha there ya go although in my imagination people who drink wine are more mellow. I could be terribly wrong though.
That sounds like a great job. I used to stop in a wine store that sold New York State wines exclusively. Believe it or not some are very good. They had a small bar in the back where you could taste 3 wines for $5. I discovered a cabernet sauvignon from upstate NY called Osprey Dominion. I bought a bottle and brought it to a dinner at which was a wine taster friend. He confirmed my opinion. It was awesome. It was only $21 a bottle. The wine label was Osprey Dominion. I'm wine illiterate but I love they have fruity or oak flavors. Wine is an entire world of its own. I envy you.
For me , this last time was not a conversation but the sight of a dear someone that i saw in a dangerous situation . I decided with the accord of my wife to bring a vigorous help. without waiting for a return!
I wonder what is this beautiful flower ( you live in Texas, Lyne? )
Love
Michel
This was a very inspiring post for me. Thanks!!
@TheSutraDude - I do event for the winery, so we pour certain wines and most people just want to taste, but others are interested in the wine itself, the subtle differences or big fruit taste or the crisp acidity of a Pinot Blanc. It's fun and I learn more each time as I work with a women who knows more than any human should about wine and the industry. California has some great wines and a lot of them are grown in our region on the central coast.
@fauquet - It is from a succulent that grows in my clients garden. Don't know the name, but the flower is bigger than the plant. I live in California on the Central Coast.
@HUMOR_ME_NOW - Thank you for stopping in for a read. (pats heart, and points to you)
