The Future Begins
The future is continuously beginning. I like how simple it sounds and yet the idea is huge. It can be a moment into the future and then move up the levels of future understanding to the tip of the future which has yet to occur. Yep!
College Bound Dude is going to college this week. He's already gone in many ways but his cave still shows signs of his still being home. I'm starting to miss him and have a small yearning to keep him home but then there's this knowing inside me that says to let him go. I'll listen to that knowing. She doesn't let me down.
We let him go when he wanted to crawl away following and watching and frankly, from that place I continued the 18 year journey with him leading his own way. It's not that he wouldn't look back or was hesitant to proceed at times, but from the beginningThe King and I have guided him in doing things for himself. He's probably hated us for it more than once...okay more than a hundred times, but now I as watch and listen and let go some more I see that the outcome was well worth the journey.

Looking back through the lens of constant new starts brings such a rush of emotions, and at the end of the rush the beginning of calm sets in. You know that feeling right? It's a adjustment to the future.
I will drive College Bound Dude to college and probably cry all the way home. They won't be tears of sadness, they will be tears that open the flow for the next future to come.
The future is continuously beginning. (pats heart and points to you)

May it be a happy year of new beginnings!! For him and you! <3
@Tempguestbrief - Thank you. I know it will be just that.
Yay for college bound dude! You've done well so I'm sure he'll do well too. Peace
I get a whole bunch of jibberish at the bottom of this post where maybe a photo should be? It's prob just me and my crazy computer. Or crazy me and my computer - take your pick. Love You
Eek -- what happened to your post, with all that stuff at the end?! It's so exciting to see an almost-adult go off to college. You're both wise enough to let him go, yet to be there when he calls for you -- to avoid the helicopter parenting that colleges are complaining about, and yet to land for him if he needs it
! Cry tears of joy for the true accomplishment you and the King and College Dude have made! And know that I'll be thinking of you, and of College Dude along the way! Hoping to see you again soon -- (((((hugs)))))
My Legshaver goes in 10 days.
it'll be tough for sure.
And yeah...your post is a real mess at the end.
Love your attitude.
I just let go of child number 6, I still don't have it down.
On one hand it's so hard to let them go, but there is such a proud feeling watching them become adults. Hugs to you!
@shellisland - No it was mine or Xanga or Foxfire or something wacky. Love you too.
@slmret - Eek was right. Hopefully I fixed it. Thanks for you encouragement and loving support Janet. Hugs!
@Bricker59 - We can have a small support group. Best of luck to Legshaver. Onward they go.
@WildWomanOfTheWest - Can't imagine it changing any, it's just the way of love. Hugs!
@WakeUpLaughing - Thanks Bubbles. You are a voice of wisdom and I hear ya!
I hear you. my sister just took her daughter to her first college semester. it's tough on moms. : )
@ofunlo - I'm working my way through it and am a card carrying member of the "work in progress" club.

@DistantShipSmoke -
Watching my daughter mature through her years away at school was such a joy. May the journey for you and your son be just as rewarding.
@songoftheheart - Thank you. I know he'll be maturing, so I hold my tongue at times and sometimes chuckle to myself.
@Jaynebug - Thank you, I needed that perspective. *releases the pressure*
the future's so bright, you have to wear shades!
@WildWomanOfTheWest -
@starmanjones - YES!
Unfortunately our babies grow up and move on and we, Mothers, shed tears of joy, pride and pain.
((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) from one Momma to another.
@Grannys_Place - Thank you. It's all in the mother manual, right?
You'll do just fine.... though my mom has tried to get me to move back to town since I left.... not in their house, but just so she can visit us more often. Sides, plenty of adult thing you can conjur up. ;)
I like new starts. Never too old for a new start.
I hope your son is doing well at the college .
New habits to take , Lyne .
Yes the future is growing more and more on the fundations of the past and sometimes this makes us dizzy.

I see in a friend ' s post a comment from Bumblefijh . I clicked on her name and Xanga tells me "page not found " . Weird ! She is a good and very interesting friend. I regret to not be able to get in touch.

Just read this again, since both our kids are on their way now.
Your words kind of comfort me Lyne.
back to the future mornin glorie....dang

This is one of those sad-happy posts that I really know nothing about personally ( I have no kids), but can relate to the sad-happy pretty well. ::: hugs :::
So how's it going?
Youngest left our nest last year and is living on her own now. With the future always seems to be a change in the homestead. You did well raising him or he wouldn't be so willing to share his future with you.
By the way, I just found this today and am starting to notice so many things from August that I haven't seen before. It would appear the future shot by a few weeks ago and came far too fast.
The future is always beginning. Yep. I like that quite a bit.
Hope life is treating you well. Looks like you haven't stopped in in awhile.
Thanks , Lyne , for the message and congrats for the responsabilities you take in school life . Bravo

Holy cowabunga! I can't believe college dude has left the building. I love the sunflower pic and your page looks great. You are an amazing mom and will do all the right things for the goblins...no worries. It's been awhile since I checked in with you and I've missed your dose of inspiration. Keep up the beautiful blog and Happy Halloween to you and your goblins. :)
I miss you Mornin Glorie....
It's so nice when they come home as friends. Sometimes that takes awhile though. Our oldest is 52, and the youngest is 27, but still in college getting his MBA. Interesting, how each one is so different.
@ata_grandma - So different indeed. College Dude is home for the holidays and both Hoops and Miss A have been showing more of their individual selves. They each affect each other, yet strive for their own calling. What adventures they have ahead. I'm loving the noisy house. I can understand now why my mom would sit and listen, just taking it all in. HUGS!
I had a nice long week at a beach here in tx, now we're home and it's getting cold enough to be a tx christmas. I hope your "new beginnings" are progressing in a lovely and interesting fashion. We miss you here! Merry Christmas!
Just to say that I hope you had a great Christmas and to wish you a happy New year
Love
Michel
